Day 27: Call a family member and catch up.
The Blurb: I come from a big family. I’m the oldest of six kids so it’s a little tricky to keep up with everything, but we try. As I’m winding down our 30 Days to Love Yourself Project with Valentines at the end of the week, I want to really focus on what’s important. Take a few minutes today to reach out to a family member and catch up.
Before you launch into everything that you’ve had going on lately, ask them questions about their life. Not YES or NO questions. Ask them about their own families or their job, ask about something they’ve been enjoying lately, something they are proud of, what they are stressed about. And then listen. Try to have the majority of the conversation focused on THEM, not you.
Suggestions: If you’re going to be talking with a teenager for this challenge, you can either call them… or try some of these useful tips from Phil on Modern Family:
Keeping It Real:
Photo of the Day: Today I FaceTimed my daddy. He loved talking to me while he was at work. It was awesome.
