My rating: 5 of 5 stars
This books is on my list of recommendations for summer reading! Elizabeth Wein did a fantastic job weaving this story together, brilliantly overlapping and leaving a trail for the reader to piece things together. With the background setting of wartime, and prisoners of war, every word in the story takes on a deeper meaning. I don’t want to spoil this one by giving too much away… the writing is beautifully crafted, the humanity of the characters is portrayed in a way that is relatable and endearing. The story unfolds in a unique way, and I’m sure that you won’t be disappointed if you pick it up. I think everyone would enjoy this book- and it’s a particularly fast read because you can’t put it down! Pick it up!
